PHR Purpose and Goals
• The stage is now set for an alternative form of health information
exchange that is patient centric
• PHR will link patients and their physicians electronically
• Development of an 'electronic container' for a patient’s PHR
• All pertinent medical information in a patient's PHR will be available for review
by physicians in ER, hospital admission or office settings
